Tomato and Sultana Chutney
Ingredients
- 450g Tomatoes
- 100g Sugar
- 225g Sultanas
- 50g Vinegar
- ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
- Salt to taste
Method
- Peel and cut tomatoes into small pieces.
- Add sugar, salt, chilli powder and ginger to the tomatoes.
- Cook all this in a covered pan on a very low heat.
- Stir the mixture well with a wooden spoon.
- When tomatoes are cooked to a semi-liquid stage, remove from heat and add the vinegar.
- Chill this mixture.
- Store in sterilised jars, but not in air-tight jars.
